Re: COVID-19 Update from Isshiki & Co. – Emergency Declaration in Japan
Dear Clients, Colleagues and Friends,
We hope you and your families are safe and in good health in this very difficult and uncertain time. On April 7, 2020, in response to the spread of Covid-19, the Japanese government declared a state of emergency covering Tokyo and six other prefectures. The government has requested that non-essential economic activities in Tokyo be suspended at least until May 6, 2020, encouraging workers to stay home or work remotely as much as possible.
In light of this situation, we have decided to conduct much of our work remotely. As we had put in place systems and protocols for facilitating remote access capabilities, we continue to be available to clients and business partners through secure channels including email.
As we may experience some delay in receiving items sent by post or courier, we ask that you send all of your communications via email to the members of our firm with whom you usually correspond so that we may ensure timely processing of your communications.
Moreover, please be informed that on April 3, 2020, the Japan Patent Office announced relief measures for failure or delays in procedures for patents, utility models, designs, and trademarks, caused by Covid-19 infection or impact therefrom. For detailed information, see

If you have any inquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Best regards,
Isshiki & Co.
