In 2011, Mr. Isshiki founded Isshiki International Law Office, the Tokyo-based U.S. law firm specializing in intellectual property and dispute resolution matters. Prior to that, Mr. Isshiki was a partner at the international law firm Morrison & Foerster where he focused on intellectual property disputes. Over the years, Mr. Isshiki has represented clients in over 30 U.S. intellectual property litigation matters.
In working closely with Isshiki & Co.’s patent attorneys and engineers, Mr. Isshiki provides a wide range of IP-related services including (i) negotiating IP licenses, (ii) developing and implementing IP strategy, (iii) conducting freedom-to-operate assessment, (iv) conducting IP due diligence in connection with M&A transactions, and (v) developing and implementing trade secrets compliance programs.
Mr. Isshiki also provides on-the-ground litigation support to international law firms representing Japanese clients as well as to international clients involved in Japanese litigation.

Activities

Mr. Isshiki writes and lectures extensively on a wide range of topics, including U.S. patent litigation, IP enforcement strategies and trade secrets compliance. He has taught or lectured at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI), the Japan Patent Office, the Japan Patent Attorneys Association, the University of Tokyo, Waseda University, Keio University, the Tokyo Institute of Technology, among others.
